Dr. Shivani Bhatt Charitable Foundation (SBCF), Anand, has been established in the fond memory of Dr Shivani Bhatt, who tragically lost her life on 31st October 2019 at USA. A brilliant academic life was thus cut short and to commemorate her memory this trust was established.
SBCF shares Dr Shivani Bhatt’s vision of an educated and healthy India especially its youth and younger children. Keeping her vision as the prime focus, the foundation has kept Health and Education as its main mission.
Education is the foundation of any country. We, at SBCF plan to provide educational help to the underprivileged and deserving students right from primary school, high school and at college level too. Giving help to needy students in the form of cash & kind have already been started. SBCF has adopted 15 underprivileged girl students and is supporting them financially and medically. SBCF has started a very successful project STUTI (Shivani Teachers Undertaking Training Initiative), which incorporates training of teachers in various subjects by highly qualified, experienced & renowned faculties.
SBCF has started its overseas OBSERVERSHIP PROGRAMME, in which it helps, assists and guides medical aspirants from all over India for observerships in USA with the help and guidance of our overseas friends. These services of SBCF are absolutely free of cost and are solely intended to help meritorious students. Also, SBCF has started SBCF LENDING LIBRARY, in which it provides pre owned medical books free of cost to needy medical & paramedical students.
Various innovative plans like renting a van for weekend mobile school, making classrooms out of living rooms, coaching students free of cost and many more such plans are to be put into action. Also income generating and self sustainable programmes like candle making, sewing, tailoring, jewellery making, embroidery work, painting etc are a part of our mission.
For the health related problems, SBCF has planned many programmes. Teaching First Aid in classrooms, Education regarding nutrition, physical activities and menstrual hygiene for young girls, are planned. Health education for mental health, depression and anxiety especially during examinations is also thought about.
Programmes to reduce anaemia have already been started. Also, in the fond memory of Shivani, since many months, Dr Hemant Bhatt is already running free opd for underprivileged and needy patients every Thursday at his hospital, Astha Surgical Hospital, Dr Cook Road, Anand, under the aegis of SBCF.
Apart from Health & Education of underprivileged students, SBCF has also started to felicitate meritorious students. SBCF has already given two Gold Medals in last 2 years, and will be giving it every year, to the Medical Student of Bhaikaka University for topping in the subject of Medicine in Final MBBS examination.
