MISSION STATEMENT
Dr. Shivani Bhatt Charitable Foundation, USA (hereinafter “the Foundation”) exists to empower, support, and uplift physicians—especially International Medical Graduates (IMGs) of Indian Origin—through education, advocacy, wellness, and community development. We promote mental health, professional growth, and equitable access to medical careers for underserved populations, enabling physicians to thrive and serve communities in need across the U.S.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
To promote career pathways for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) of Indian Origin, including mentorship, guidance, training, and resources to facilitate their integration into the U.S. healthcare system.
To support mental health and wellness among physicians through preventive programming, peer support groups, counseling, wellness workshops, and awareness campaigns.
To conduct educational events, conferences, webinars, and symposiums, fostering professional development for IMGs and physicians.
To offer scholarships, grants, or financial aid to IMGs for exam preparation, licensing fees, or transition support.
To engage in research, publication, and advocacy to inform policy concerning IMGs, physician burnout, mental health, and health equity.
To collaborate with hospitals, academic institutions, governmental bodies, and nonprofits from the U.S. and India to expand reach, resources, and impact.
To disseminate information, best practices, toolkits, and programs to support physician wellness, resilience, and retention in underserved areas.
To raise funds via donations, grants, membership, conferences, auctions, and other lawful methods to sustain programs.
To foster international collaborations and cultural exchange in medicine between the U.S. and India by creating partnerships among physicians, IMGs, medical students, and healthcare organizations to promote innovation, research, and service delivery that enhances healthcare equity.
To operate as a nonprofit public charity in compliance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, ensuring no part of net earnings benefits private individuals.
ACTIVITIES & PROGRAMMATIC DESCRIPTIONS
Activity 1. IMGs’ Career Promotion: Overview
This initiative focuses on supporting International Medical Graduates (IMGs) in their journey through the U.S. medical training and practice system.
Key Program Components:
Mentorship & Coaching: Pairing IMGs with experienced U.S. physicians for guidance, career planning, interview prep, residency matching strategy, licensing navigation.
Educational Webinars & Workshops: Topics such as USMLE/CSE prep, residency applications, visa/immigration issues, exam fees assistance, research & publications.
Scholarships & Grants: Provide financial aid to cover board exam fees, licensing exam study materials, travel for interviews, relocation support.
Internship & Observership Placement: Collaborate with hospitals/clinics to place IMGs in observerships, externships, clinical rotations, or research roles.
Networking & Peer Community Building: Virtual or in-person networking events, peer support groups, fora for IMGs to share experiences and resources.
Resource Library & Toolkits: Online repositories of guides, templates, course recommendations, reference letters, CV examples, and visa/immigration guides.

Activity 2. Physicians’ Wellness & Mental Health Promotion: Overview
This initiative addresses the well-being, burnout, resilience, and mental health of physicians (including IMGs), recognizing the high stress of medical careers.

Wellness Workshops & Retreats: Topics like stress management, mindfulness, self-care, resilience training, work-life balance, time management.
Peer Support & Counseling Groups: Confidential peer groups, facilitated by mental health professionals, support lines, group therapy formats.
Digital Resource Platform: Online modules, guided meditations, self-assessment tools, wellness tip libraries, mental health apps.
Crisis Assistance & Referral Services: Provide referral networks for licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists; possibly subsidized for those in financial need.
Awareness Campaigns & Outreach: Host webinars, speaker series, articles, social media, and content to destigmatize mental health for physicians.
